Any Other Business
What I wish I'd added to my piece on Get Back. Plus: a luxury hamper of brain food.
Dear Ruffians, old and new -
Thanks for the many generous and touching responses to my piece on Get Back (and to those of you with zero interest in The Beatles, thanks for your forbearance).
I was planning to write a longer piece this week: part two of my investigation into “the narcissism of minor differences” in politics. But I spent so long knocking my Get Back notes into shape that I didn’t have time for it. So instead, I have what I hope is a fun grab-bag of goodies for you:
“Notes on Get Back” extras: a few observations I couldn’t fit into the piece, including one about Lennon I actually wish I’d touched on. I also have recommendations for further reading and listening.
Plenty of non-Beatles content: a bumper selection of links to brilliant articles and delicious brain food (including my thoughts on where we are with the Boris crisis).
My Get Back piece was free for all, but for this weekend’s edition, I am ushering paid subscribers only into the viewing lounge.
If you’re a free subscriber please consider upgrading, I’d really appreciate it. I hope you’ll find it good value for money (it will also help give me the time to write longer pieces like that one).
Oh and please check out my latest book, CONFLICTED, on the art and science of productive conflict (yes it does contain a Beatles story or two). Click here for links to your favourite booksellers (UK and US).
