If you missed Part I of my conversation with Jasmine Sun, I suggest you rectify that immediately. In it, we discussed the future of writing and work in the age of these fiendishly clever language machines. Part II, for paid subs only, is more practical. Lots of people are using ChatGPT and Claude and Gemini and the others but there’s wide variation in how much people get out of them. Most users haven’t explored the range of functionality on offer or learned to discriminate between the different services.
Jasmine is, as you’d expect, highly skilled in the use of these tools for research and cognitive collaboration. In this episode, she talks us through how she uses them, what they’re good at and not so good at, how to write good prompts, their hidden features, and which services are suited to which tasks. I found our conversation super useful and I think you will too. Video below.
