I enjoyed the interview, but Ms Kelly confirmed my opinion that Trump is an archetypal country club Republican - entranced by superficialities like wealth and appearance, incapable of deep thought, and bound by prejudices formed decades ago. It seems he can be pleasant company, provided due deference is shown. But to the extent that he is empathetic at all, his concern seems superficial and fleeting; too bad about the children of Gaza, but think about that beach real estate. Too bad about the Kherson civilians bombed by drones - but the US deserves Ukraine’s minerals.
Ms Kelly comes over as a nice and self-aware person. She surely realizes that, had she been less physically attractive, she probably would not have succeeded in getting into the belly of the beast. I’m glad she did, and her reporting makes it clear that you do not have to be a woke leftie to see Trump and his milieu as moral defectives.
