• Usually, The Ruffian goes short on moral outrage but sometimes it would be merely perverse not to join in. I really don’t think there is a smart contrarian take to be had on this revolting spectacle. In fact, the pseudo-sophisticated, affectedly world-weary takes are the worst. “Well, acksually, Zelensky brought this on himself/Trump and Vance are just saying the quiet part out loud/Hard truths are hard.” All of it an exercise in wilful stupidity.
  

• But there are few things I want to say. Amazingly, not all of them are bleak.
